Part 1 Since the transformation in the Oromia Region, efforts have been made to modernize the agricultural sector and increase production and productivity. The major goals of agricultural development are: Increasing exports, replacing imported products with domestic ones, ensuring food security and creating job opportunities to change the lives of farmers and ranchers. More than 30 agricultural initiatives have been implemented to increase production and productivity at a high level. The new measures(initiatives) are being implemented to ensure that various crops are produced in high quality and quantity in all the favorable conditions.The wheat development initiative is one of the crop initiatives being implemented to advance the agriculture of the region 1.184 million cultivated and produced 43.7 million quintals of wheat was cultivated in 2016/17 crop year, 3.1 million hectares of land was cultivated and production of over 108.9 million quintals was achieved 163.4 million has been found. In terms of garlic cultivation, 3.65 million quintals of garlic was produced from 94,000 hectares of land in 2009/10 crop year while 19.38 million quintals of garlic was produced from 528,000 hectares of land cultivated in 2016/17 crop year. Rice cultivation was only 134,000 quintals from 4,000 hectares of cultivated area in the 2009/2010 crop year, while over 52.85 million quintals of rice was produced from 1.5 million hectares of cultivated land in the 2016/17 crop year 57.5 hin caalle was produced in 2016/17 crop year and 88.45 million quintals was produced in 2016/17 crop year while Mishinga was cultivated on 671,000 hectares in 2016/17 crop year and 1.05 million hectares of land was cultivated in 2016/17 crop year development on only 15,000 was cultivated on over 604,000 hectares of land in 2016/17 crop year and production of over 9.5 million quintals was achieved.Also, less than 3.1 million quintals of Boloqqee was produced before the change, over 17.1 million quintals of Boloqqee was produced in 2016/17 crop year yielding crop initiatives it is an ointment. Accordingly, in 2009/2010, salix was cultivated on no more than 16,000 hectares of land and in 2016/17 crop year, more than 3.9 million quintals of Mashoo was produced from more than 500,000 hectares of land over 2.5 million Over 7.4 million quintals of produce was collected from 521,000 hectares of cultivated land in the 2016/17 crop year.Overall, the difference between cultivated area and production shows that the Government is working hard to advance the agricultural sector in realizing the journey to build a stronger country indicates that they are playing a leading role.
