“Busa Gonofa Is A Tradition By Which Humanity Is Reflected And By Which Everyday Life Is Guided.”
The Oromo have been governed by the philosophy of the Gada system by building institutions filled with law and order and by which life is guided. Among the major organizations where natural and man-made challenges are overcome, the tradition of mutual assistance is foremost. Although known by different names in all corners of Oromia, Buusaa Gonofaan is a tradition of mutual assistance that is the pillar by which true humanity is reflected and by which everyday life is guided. Buusaa Gonofaan is one of the new measures implemented by the Oromia Regional State to return to the Oromo tradition of the morning and it is a new structure that has enabled to combat common social problems. Itita is a new step that has achieved great victories in a short period of time. By mobilizing and strategically managing the ancient Oromo traditions of the Gadaa system, it has not only been possible to combat the severe famine in Southern Oromia but also to move it from a relief center to a productive one. Moreover, it is the hand of our people who have reached out to their traditions and morals for this blessed cause that has enabled them to overcome the natural and man-made challenges faced in the past six years. The Government of the Oromia Regional State fundamentally believes that today and tomorrow, the traditions of our people are a strong pillar in resisting natural and man-made challenges to save everyone from failure and strengthen social cohesion. Therefore, Buusaa Gonofaa is working determinedly to structure Oromia and promote the reputation of Oromo identity to the highest level beyond help. From this perspective, Buusaa Gonofaa is a people’s shield organization that makes Oromia independent of any political views and provides humanitarian cooperation and support only for the sake of humanity. The Busa Gonofa is building a humanitarian partnership that can withstand natural and man-made challenges. To achieve this goal, more than 28.5 million continuously cooperating members have been attracted through the work done over the past six years. In addition, the Gonofaa Busa Contribution is being collected legally and it has been used to prevent natural and man-made disasters. As a government, I would like to thank the individuals and organizations who are supporting this great mission by becoming members of Buusa Gonofaa Oromia. Buusaa Gonofaan has been able to take the path of success among the strongest institutions in the country due to your cooperation and support. Our people are going beyond words and realizing this mission in action. More than Qarshii nine billion has been raised through the members' donations and contributions of Buusa Gonofaa. In schools, emphasis is being placed on providing meals to students and school farms have been implemented through civic service programs to make the student meals program a success. We will also work determinedly to take this initiative to the next level and strengthen the mission of generation building. Modern machinery used to make the mechanization of the agricultural sector successful in rural areas and accelerate the development started in urban areas has been purchased and implemented. From this perspective, it works from creating awareness in rural and urban areas to demonstrating that poverty is a shame and prosperity is a blessing. Thus, we will continue to strengthen the work started to create citizens who move towards productivity in attitude and action by making use of history. While we have great wealth as a party; The Oromia Regional State Government will continue to pay special attention to the establishment of Buusa Gonofaa goals and I respectfully appeal to the people to work to take the cooperation and support they have started to the highest level! We will build Oromia, we will strengthen Ethiopia, we will stabilize the Horn of Africa;
